MODELSWARD 2017, the 5th International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development, was held from February 19th to 21st in Porto, Portugal. This conference aims to provide a platform to present research results and development activities in using models and model-driven engineering techniques for software development. AMASS actively participated at several tracks of the conference.

Roy Mendieta (UC3) presented the AMASS publication “Towards Effective SysML Model Reuse”. The paper presents the initial work towards enabling an effective reuse of the knowledge contained in SysML models. The solution is based on a universal information representation model called RSHP and on existing technology for indexing and retrieval. The results from the preliminary validation show that the solution has very high precision and recall in model finding.

Jose Luis de la Vara (UC3) presented AMASS during the European Project Space track. This was also an opportunity for networking with other EU projects on model-driven engineering and on critical systems: iCARE (MobIle health-Care system for monitoring toxicity and symptoms in cAncer patients Receiving diseasEoriented therapy), NECOMA (Nippon-European European Cyberdefense-Oriented Cyberdefense Oriented Multilayer threat Analysis), and NEXES (NEXt generation Emergency Services). AMASS has been acknowledged as an academic partner of MODELSWARD.

The participation of AMASS in MODELSWARD is just another piece of the dissemination work that the partners are successfully performing to help the project reach its impact. Participation in further events is expected in the next months, including events organised by ARTEMIS and ECSEL such as DIF 2017 and ECSEL Symposium 2017, respectively.
